Going barefoot on a thick lawn is a magical feeling. But that level of turf perfection doesn’t happen by accident. One powerful lawn care combo helps your yard achieve a carpet-like look and feel. Core aeration and lawn overseeding.
Expensive “miracle” fertilizers. Dumping grass seed on problem areas. Infomercial lawn gadgets. These quick fixes don’t work.
Want transformative, lasting results? You need professional lawn aeration and overseeding lawn services done at the right time by Kapp’s Green Lawn.

Walk across your lawn right now. Does it feel springy underfoot? Is it crunchy? That difference is due to the hidden world of roots, microbes, and soil structure.
Most homeowner lawns are in bad shape because of three not-so-obvious issues.
The solution to these lawn problems? Core aeration from Kapp’s Green Lawn!
What comes to mind when you hear the word “aeration”? The majority of people picture dirt plugs on the surface and holes in the ground. But in reality, core aeration is similar to an advanced soil treatment procedure.
We remove finger-sized plugs of soil that are 2-4 inches deep using a machine with hollow tines. This creates short-term airways. However, do-it-yourself techniques are less successful. This is because low-cost spike aerators might push soil sideways or lack proper coverage and spacing.
Remember that the rate at which a lawn recovers depends on the homeowner’s level of care following aeration and the timing of the treatment. We advise planning your aeration for late summer or early fall, when the roots are ready for growth, for cool-season grasses like Kentucky bluegrass and fescue.
Over time, bald spots appear on even the healthiest lawns. It might be the area where your kids always set up the sprinkler, the summer heat, or your playful pets.
Overseeding is similar to simultaneously giving your yard a new haircut and a vitamin boost. The following results from applying fresh grass seed over pre-existing turf:

Lawn aeration and overseeding are like peanut butter and jelly. They’re good alone, but even better together for the following three reasons.
Week 1: Aerate when the soil is slightly moist but not soggy. Overseed immediately after, then water lightly twice a day.
Weeks 2-3: Switch to daily deep watering as seedlings emerge. It’s also a good idea to post “Keep Off” signs on your yard and let your dog do its “business” elsewhere.
Week 4+: Mow when new grass reaches about 3 inches. Just be sure that your mower has sharp blades. Then resume normal watering as the roots are established.
How often should you aerate your lawn?
In general, we recommend you get annual or biannual aeration.
Do I need to rake up those dirt plugs?
Nope! Those little soil plugs break down naturally, feeding your lawn like mini compost packets.
Can I fertilize at the same time?
Absolutely. Just opt for a low-nitrogen starter fertilizer.
Will this make my neighbor jealous of my gorgeous yard?
Almost guaranteed. But you can always refer them to us if they’d like their lawn to look beautiful, too.
